CAMP-of-the-WOODS

Summer Life

What you can expect

CAMP-of-the-WOODS is not a kids camp, it is a family resort.

Spirituality

Your spiritual growth is our number one priority this summer. We have set up several opportunities for you to grow in your walk with Christ. Every Sunday our staff join together for a time of worship, a word given by our Staff Pastor, and small groups. This is a highlight for so many of our staff as it is a chance to take a break from work, fellowship with other believers and be refreshed.

Leisure

You’ll have plenty to do in your off time this summer. Outside of what we have going on at CAMP, there is plenty to do in the Adirondack Park from near-by swimming holes, challenging high-peak hikes, and beautiful views. Many of our staff also spend the day at Saratoga Springs, historic Lake Placid or beautiful Lake George. There is also plenty to do in town with our local town gym, public town beach, ice cream stands, several delicious restaurants, and a nature trail.

Community

The community at CAMP is a big reason why it’s such a special experience. We hire over 300 summer staff who desire to be in a strong Christian community. We host several events throughout the summer for staff to fellowship and engage but we often find that the community naturally flourishes as they pursue Christ together.

Room and Board

We seek to provide honoring accommodations to our hard-working staff members. Our two main dormitories were built within the past few years with the priority of blessing the staff. Zeitfuss Lodge and Zeitfuss II are two beautiful lodges that house over 80 staffers. Each room has its own shower room, restroom, and space for storage. The lodge is complete with Wi-Fi, several large common areas, a half-kitchen and laundry room where staff can do laundry free of charge.

All meals are accommodated through our Hill Dining Hall. Staff have access to a wide-range of food for each meal which includes a full buffet line, an extensive salad bar, and various snacks. Staff also may purchase our grill food at the TeePee!

Activities

Within CAMP there are many activities staff have access to. Our Sonju Sports Complex features two gymnasiums, with a total of four courts for basketball, volleyball or soccer, and a covered pavilion. There is also a state-of-the-art climbing and bouldering wall and a family-style game room with games like foosball, skee ball, air hockey, table shuffleboard, and more! We have a fabulous beach to enjoy and an on-site marina that rents canoes, kayaks, and sunfish. (FREE of charge for Staff) Off the water, you can challenge your friends on our professional tennis courts, 18-hole miniature golf course, shuffleboard, challenge course, zip-line (day and night!), horseshoe pit, sand volleyball court, and in tournaments of all kinds.

Work

While the work environment has the feel of the typical “summer camp” experience, we have unique opportunities that come along with serving families in a resort setting. In hiring over 300 staff members for over 20 different departments we have a wide range of experience from internships and professional opportunities, to the more classic outdoor and ministry related jobs one receives at a typical camp. Many students have received internship credit or crucial, resume-building experience in fields like Accounting, Business Management, Business Marketing, Childhood Education, Communications, Culinary Arts, Hospitality & Hotel Management, Marketing, Ministry, Nursing, Outdoor Education, Visual Arts, and others. Of course, there are also positions for those with limited experience who would like to be at camp for the many other benefits.
